Taguig

Taguig, officially the City of Taguig, is a highly urbanized city in the National Capital Region of the Philippines. It lies on the southeastern portion of Metro Manila along Manila Bay and is part of the country’s most densely populated urban area. The city is known for its mix of old residential neighborhoods and modern business districts, most prominently Bonifacio Global City (BGC), a major financial and lifestyle hub.

BGC, developed by Ayala Land, hosts offices, retail, parks, and residential towers. The city also includes other mixed-use developments such as Arca South.

Taguig's modern growth accelerated with the redevelopment of Fort Bonifacio into BGC. The city is divided into two congressional districts and is subdivided into multiple barangays; local government is headed by a mayor and city council.

Taguig is among Metro Manila's fastest-growing areas, with a service-based economy and a large workforce commuting to BGC and other business sites. It also hosts residential areas and educational institutions.

It is connected via major roads including C-5, the South Luzon Expressway and Skyway; public transport includes jeepneys and buses, with ongoing projects to expand mass transit. The city remains accessible from central Manila and other parts of southern Metro Manila.
