Tabjärjekordi
Tabjärjekordi, also known as tabular icebergs, are a type of iceberg that forms in the Weddell Sea off the coast of Antarctica. They are characterized by their flat, tabular shape, which is a result of the unique conditions in the Weddell Sea. The sea is covered by a thick layer of sea ice, which provides a stable platform for the icebergs to form. The icebergs are typically about 200 meters thick and can be several kilometers in length.
Tabjärjekordi are formed when the sea ice breaks off from the coast and floats out to sea.
Tabjärjekordi are of interest to scientists because they provide a unique opportunity to study the properties
Tabjärjekordi are also of interest to sailors and other maritime users because they can pose a hazard
