Resin identification codes, typically found on plastic items, help sort different types of plastic for recycling. These codes range from 1 to 7, with each number representing a different polymer. For example, code 1 (PET) is commonly used for beverage bottles, while code 2 (HDPE) is found in milk jugs and detergent bottles.
