TRNC
The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, often abbreviated as TRNC, is a de facto state that comprises the northern portion of the island of Cyprus. It was declared in 1983 following a coup d'état in 1974 that was supported by the Turkish military, which intervened in response to a Greek Cypriot coup aimed at uniting the island with Greece. The TRNC is recognized only by Turkey. The rest of the international community considers the entire island of Cyprus to be under the jurisdiction of the Republic of Cyprus.
