TORC1s
TORC1s, also known as Target Of Rapamycin Complex 1, are essential protein complexes found in eukaryotic cells. These complexes play a critical role in regulating cell growth, proliferation, metabolism, and survival. The core component of TORC1 is the highly conserved serine/threonine kinase, mechanistic Target of Rapamycin (mTOR). The other key component is a regulatory protein called Lst8.
TORC1 integrates signals from various cellular inputs, including nutrient availability, growth factors, and cellular stress levels.
The dysregulation of TORC1 signaling is implicated in a wide range of diseases, including cancer, metabolic
