TEÁORéka is the Hungarian Statistical Classification of Economic Activities. It is a standardized system used for classifying business and economic activities within Hungary. The purpose of TEÁOR is to enable the collection, compilation, and dissemination of statistics on economic activities in a coherent and comparable manner, both nationally and internationally. This classification is crucial for government agencies, researchers, and businesses to understand the structure of the Hungarian economy, track trends, and make informed decisions.

The current version of TEÁOR is aligned with the European Union's statistical classification of economic activities, NACE (Nomenclature statistique des activités économiques dans les Communautés européennes). This alignment ensures that Hungarian economic data can be compared with data from other EU member states, facilitating EU-wide statistical analysis and policy-making. TEÁOR codes are hierarchical, with broader categories broken down into more specific sub-categories. Each economic entity in Hungary is assigned one or more TEÁOR codes based on its primary and secondary activities. This coding system is used for various administrative purposes, including business registration, tax administration, and the production of official statistics by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH). Changes and updates to the TEÁOR classification are made periodically to reflect evolving economic structures and international standards.
