TCDDcontaining is a term that refers to the presence of 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD) within a substance or environment. TCDD is a highly toxic and persistent organic pollutant belonging to the dioxin family. It is not intentionally produced but is typically formed as an unwanted byproduct during industrial processes such as waste incineration, chemical manufacturing, and metallurgical processes, especially when chlorine-containing materials are present. TCDD can also be released into the environment during natural events like forest fires.

Due to its extreme stability, TCDD does not readily break down and can persist in the environment for long periods.
