Túltöltést

Túltöltést is a Hungarian term that literally translates to "overfilling" or "overcharging." In a technical context, it most commonly refers to the phenomenon of overcharging a battery. This occurs when a battery is supplied with more electrical charge than it can safely or efficiently store. Modern batteries, particularly those based on lithium-ion technology, have sophisticated battery management systems (BMS) designed to prevent overcharging. These systems monitor the battery's voltage and temperature and will cease charging when the battery reaches its optimal charge level.

If a battery is forced to accept charge beyond its capacity, it can lead to several detrimental effects. These include accelerated degradation of battery components, reduced lifespan, overheating, and in extreme cases, potential safety hazards such as swelling or even fire. Older battery technologies were more susceptible to permanent damage from overcharging, while contemporary designs are considerably more robust due to integrated safety mechanisms. The term "túltöltést" is therefore a warning against exceeding the intended charging limits for any rechargeable energy storage device.
