Törekmel

Törekmel is a traditional Central Asian confectionery, particularly popular in Turkmenistan. It is a type of halva, characterized by its dense, crumbly texture and sweet, often nutty flavor. The primary ingredients typically include wheat flour, sugar, and vegetable oil or rendered animal fat. Nuts such as walnuts, peanuts, or almonds are frequently incorporated, adding both flavor and texture.

The preparation of törekmel involves roasting flour until it achieves a light brown color.
