Tõstureid

Tõstureid, often translated as forklifts, are industrial trucks used to lift and move materials over short distances. They are essential equipment in warehouses, factories, construction sites, and shipping yards. The primary function of a tõstureid is to transport pallets, which are flat structures designed to support goods stably while being lifted by a forklift.

The design of a tõstureid typically includes a heavy counterweight at the rear to balance the load carried at the front, mast for vertical lifting, and forks that extend forward to engage with pallets. Different types of tõstureid exist to suit various applications. Counterbalance forklifts are the most common, featuring a load-bearing section at the rear. Reach trucks are designed for narrow aisles and can extend their forks to reach higher or deeper into racking. Pallet trucks, both manual and electric, are simpler devices for moving pallets horizontally.

Tõstureid can be powered by various energy sources, including internal combustion engines (propane, gasoline, diesel) and electric batteries. Electric tõstureid are often preferred for indoor use due to their zero emissions and quieter operation. Safety is a paramount concern when operating tõstureid, and operators are typically required to undergo specialized training. Proper maintenance is also crucial to ensure the reliable and safe operation of these versatile machines.
