Tændingsproces
Tændingsproces refers to the process of initiating combustion, most commonly in internal combustion engines. It is a critical stage in the thermodynamic cycle that converts chemical energy stored in fuel into mechanical work. The tændingsproces begins when a suitable ignition source is applied to a combustible mixture of fuel and air. In spark-ignition engines, this ignition source is typically an electric spark generated by a spark plug. The high voltage from the ignition coil creates a spark across the gap of the spark plug, which heats the surrounding fuel-air mixture to its autoignition temperature.
In compression-ignition engines, such as diesel engines, the tændingsproces occurs without a spark. Instead, air is
