Täishübriide

Täishübriidid are a type of hybrid vehicle that combines a traditional internal combustion engine with an electric motor and a battery pack. Unlike mild-hybrid vehicles, which can only provide limited electric assistance, full hybrids are capable of driving on electric power alone for short distances and at lower speeds. The electric motor can also work in conjunction with the gasoline engine to provide a combined power output for acceleration or when traversing steep inclines.

The primary advantage of a full hybrid is improved fuel efficiency compared to a conventional gasoline-powered vehicle. This is achieved through regenerative braking, where the electric motor acts as a generator during deceleration, capturing energy that would otherwise be lost as heat and storing it in the battery. The vehicle can then use this stored energy to power the electric motor, reducing the reliance on the gasoline engine.

Full hybrids automatically switch between electric-only propulsion, gasoline-only propulsion, and a combined power mode, optimizing performance and fuel economy based on driving conditions. When the battery is depleted or more power is needed, the internal combustion engine takes over. Conversely, when the vehicle is stopped or cruising at low speeds, it can often run solely on electric power, resulting in zero tailpipe emissions during that time. The battery is typically recharged by the internal combustion engine or through regenerative braking, meaning a full hybrid does not require external charging from an electrical outlet.
