Sünkroonust

Sünkroonust is an Estonian term that translates to synchronicity in English. It refers to the occurrence of events that appear to be meaningfully related but lack a direct causal connection. This concept was popularized by Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung, who described it as an "acausal connecting principle." Jung believed that synchronistic events are not mere coincidences but rather manifestations of a deeper, underlying order in the universe.

Synchronistic experiences often involve a striking alignment between an internal psychological state, such as a thought, feeling, or dream, and an external event. For example, someone might be thinking intensely about a long-lost friend, and then unexpectedly encounter that friend shortly afterward. These experiences are often described as uncanny, profound, or even magical. Jung suggested that synchronicity could provide insights into the unconscious mind and the interconnectedness of all things.

While synchronicity is not a scientifically proven phenomenon and is often attributed to chance or psychological biases, it remains a significant concept in depth psychology, philosophy, and spiritual traditions.
