Sääprosessi is a Finnish term that can be translated to "weather process" or "atmospheric process." It refers to the complex and dynamic physical phenomena that occur within the Earth's atmosphere, leading to the weather we experience. These processes are driven by energy from the sun and involve the interaction of various atmospheric components.

Key elements of sääprosessi include the circulation of air masses, which are large bodies of air with relatively uniform temperature and humidity. The movement and interaction of these air masses, influenced by pressure gradients, temperature differences, and the Earth's rotation (Coriolis effect), create weather fronts.
