Sändningsinfrastruktur, also known as broadcast infrastructure, refers to the physical and technical systems required to transmit audio and video content to a wide audience. This encompasses a broad range of equipment and facilities, from the initial point of content creation to the final delivery to viewers and listeners. At its core, it involves the technology used to encode, modulate, and transmit signals. This can include terrestrial broadcast towers, satellite uplinks and downlinks, and increasingly, fiber optic networks and internet-based streaming platforms.

The infrastructure involves studios, control rooms, transmission centers, and distribution networks. Studios are where content is produced, featuring cameras, microphones, lighting, and editing equipment. Control rooms manage the live broadcast or recording process. Transmission centers house the powerful transmitters and antennas that send the signals out. Distribution networks then carry these signals to end-users through various means, such as over-the-air broadcasts, cable television systems, or digital streaming services.
