Säiliöformaatti
Säiliöformaatti, often translated as container format, is a type of multimedia file that holds different types of data. This data can include video, audio, subtitles, and metadata, all synchronized together. Unlike simple audio or video files, a container format acts as a wrapper, allowing multiple streams of content to be stored and managed within a single file. The actual audio and video streams are encoded using specific codecs, such as H.264 for video or AAC for audio. The container format itself defines how these streams are organized and multiplexed.
Common examples of container formats include MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14), AVI (Audio Video Interleave), MKV (Matroska),
