Sähkösaunas

Sähkösauna, a Finnish term literally translating to "electric sauna," refers to a sauna that uses an electric heater to generate heat. This type of sauna is a modern adaptation of the traditional Finnish sauna, which traditionally relied on wood-burning stoves. Electric saunas offer a convenient and user-friendly alternative, requiring less maintenance and effort compared to wood-fired models.

The core component of a sähkösauna is the electric sauna heater, often called a kiuas. This heater contains heating elements that warm up rocks, which then radiate heat into the sauna room and can be used to create löyly, the characteristic steam produced by adding water to the hot rocks. The temperature is controlled by a thermostat, allowing for precise and consistent heat levels.
