Széndiszulfid
Széndiszulfid, also known by its chemical formula CS2, is a volatile, colorless liquid with a characteristic odor, although technical grades can be yellow and smell strongly of rotten eggs due to impurities. It is a non-polar solvent that is highly flammable and has a low flash point. CS2 is insoluble in water but miscible with many organic solvents like ethanol, ether, and benzene.
Industrially, széndiszulfid is primarily produced by the reaction of charcoal or coke with sulfur at high temperatures,
Due to its toxicity, széndiszulfid must be handled with extreme caution. Exposure can occur through inhalation,
