Social policy encompasses a wide range of areas, including social security, healthcare, education, housing, employment, and family support. The primary objective of social policy is to reduce inequality, alleviate poverty, and ensure a basic standard of living for all members of society. It is a dynamic field that evolves in response to changing societal needs, economic conditions, and political ideologies. Different countries and political systems approach social policy with varying philosophies, ranging from liberal welfare states that emphasize universal provision to more conservative models that prioritize individual responsibility and market-based solutions.
