Szemprotéziskészítés is the Hungarian term for the manufacturing of ocular prostheses, commonly known as artificial eyes. This specialized field involves the creation of custom-made prosthetic eyes designed to fit into the socket of a patient who has lost an eye due to injury, disease, or congenital conditions.

The process begins with an impression of the eye socket to ensure a precise fit and comfortable wear. Ocularists, the professionals trained in this craft, then hand-paint the iris of the prosthesis to match the patient's remaining eye in terms of color, size, and pattern. The prosthesis is typically made from acrylic materials, which are durable and biocompatible.

Once the prosthesis is fabricated, it is carefully fitted to the patient. Adjustments are made to ensure proper movement, comfort, and cosmetic appearance.
