Szívóturbó

Szívóturbó refers to a supercharger system in internal combustion engines where the turbocharger is driven by the engine's exhaust gases, not by a belt or direct mechanical connection. This system is designed to increase the engine's power output by forcing more air into the combustion chambers. The exhaust gases flow through a turbine, which spins a compressor. This compressor then draws in ambient air, compresses it, and delivers it to the engine's intake manifold at a higher pressure than atmospheric pressure. This increased air density allows for more fuel to be injected, resulting in a more powerful combustion event.

The primary advantage of a szívóturbó is its ability to boost engine performance, leading to increased horsepower and torque. It can also improve fuel efficiency under certain operating conditions because the engine can produce more power with a smaller displacement. However, szívóturbó systems introduce complexity to the engine and can lead to increased heat generation and potentially higher engine wear if not properly managed. They also can introduce a phenomenon known as "turbo lag," which is a delay in the power delivery as the turbocharger spools up to its effective operating speed. Modern engine management systems and advancements in turbocharger design have significantly reduced turbo lag in many applications.
