Synechien is a genus of extinct marine reptiles classified within the Ichthyosauria order. These reptiles lived during the Late Triassic to Early Jurassic periods, approximately 200 to 180 million years ago. The genus is known primarily through fossil discoveries that provide insights into the early evolution of ichthyosaurs, which were highly adapted marine predators.

Fossil remains of synechiene species have been found in Europe and North America, suggesting that they inhabited a wide range of marine environments.
