Symbiotický

Symbiotický describes a close and often long-term interaction between two different biological species. This relationship can manifest in various ways, with different outcomes for the involved organisms. One common type is mutualism, where both species benefit from the interaction. For example, bees pollinating flowers is a mutualistic relationship as bees get nectar and pollen, and the flowers are pollinated, allowing for reproduction.

Another form is commensalism, where one species benefits and the other is neither harmed nor helped. Barnacles attaching themselves to a whale is a classic example; the barnacles gain a place to live and filter feed, while the whale is generally unaffected.

Parasitism is a third type of symbiotic relationship where one organism, the parasite, benefits at the expense of the other organism, the host. Fleas living on a dog are a parasitic example, as the fleas feed on the dog's blood, causing harm to the dog. The term symbiotic is broad and encompasses all these forms of interspecies association, highlighting the diverse ways organisms can co-exist and interact within an ecosystem.
