Sugauli
Sugauli is a town and a municipality in the East Champaran district of Bihar, India. It is situated in the northern part of the state, close to the border with Nepal. The town is historically significant due to the Treaty of Sugauli, which was signed here on December 2, 1815, between the British East India Company and the Kingdom of Nepal. This treaty marked the end of the Anglo-Nepalese War and led to significant territorial concessions by Nepal to the British.
