Sudovian
The Sudovians were a Western Baltic tribe that inhabited Sudovia, a historical region in the southwestern Baltic area, in what is now southern Lithuania and nearby parts of Poland. They were part of the broader Baltic ethnolinguistic group that also included the Old Prussians and the Yotvingians. The Sudovians spoke Sudovian, an extinct Baltic language related to Old Prussian and Yotvingian; the language is poorly attested and understood mainly through toponyms and a few later records.
Historically, the Sudovians occupied the Nemunas (Memel) river valley and surrounding districts before the Northern Crusades.
