Stillprobleme

Stillprobleme is a term that appears in some German-language writings to describe problems associated with achieving or maintaining stillness, quiet, or stability in a system, process, or perception. Instead, it is used in a variety of contexts to discuss related difficulties.

In philosophy and phenomenology, Stillprobleme can refer to tensions around the notion of rest or pure states of being. Debates may focus on whether true stillness is attainable or whether perception and consciousness inherently introduce disturbance even in attempts to be still.
