Stereospesifisillä refers to a chemical reaction where the stereochemistry of the reactants directly determines the stereochemistry of the products. This means that if a reactant exists as a specific stereoisomer, the product formed will also have a defined and predictable stereochemical configuration. This is in contrast to stereoselective reactions, where one stereoisomer is formed preferentially over others, but the relationship is not as rigidly defined by the reactant's initial stereochemistry.
