In these technologies, two images are presented, each mimicking the view from one eye. When viewed with special glasses or displays, the brain fuses these images, recreating the sensation of depth. This allows viewers to perceive objects as having volume and distance, enhancing immersion and realism.

Beyond entertainment, stereoskopisches technology finds use in various scientific and industrial fields. Medical imaging, for instance, can utilize stereoscopic views to aid surgeons in diagnosis and surgical planning. In engineering and surveying, stereoscopic aerial photography allows for the creation of detailed topographical maps and 3D models of terrain.
