Stereokentässä

Stereokentässä is a Finnish term that translates to "in the stereofield" or "in the field of stereos". It refers to the study and practice of stereochemistry, a subdiscipline of chemistry that involves the three-dimensional arrangement of atoms in molecules. Stereochemistry is crucial because the spatial arrangement of atoms can significantly affect a molecule's physical and chemical properties, as well as its biological activity.

The concept of stereokentässä encompasses various phenomena, including chirality, enantiomers, diastereomers, and geometric isomers. Chirality, often described as "handedness," is a property of molecules that are non-superimposable on their mirror images.
