Stellarereignissen refers to significant events that occur in the life cycle of stars. These events are a fundamental aspect of astrophysics and celestial mechanics, dictating the evolution and eventual fate of stars. The most common stellarereignissen include stellar formation, stellar evolution, and stellar death.

Stellar formation begins within vast clouds of gas and dust called nebulae. Gravitational collapse within these nebulae leads to the formation of protostars, which eventually ignite nuclear fusion in their cores, becoming main-sequence stars. Stellar evolution is a long and complex process, with a star's lifespan and evolutionary path largely determined by its initial mass.

As stars age, they undergo further transformations. For stars similar in mass to our Sun, this includes expanding into red giants and eventually shedding their outer layers to form planetary nebulae, leaving behind a white dwarf. More massive stars experience a more dramatic end. They can evolve into red supergiants and, under immense gravitational pressure, undergo a supernova explosion.

Supernovae are among the most energetic stellarereignissen. They can briefly outshine entire galaxies and are responsible for creating and dispersing heavy elements into the interstellar medium, which are crucial for the formation of new stars, planets, and life. The remnant of a supernova can be either a neutron star, an extremely dense object composed almost entirely of neutrons, or, for the most massive stars, a black hole, a region of spacetime where gravity is so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape.
