Statorbouw

Statorbouw refers to the construction of stators, which are the stationary parts of rotating electrical machines such as electric motors and generators. The stator typically houses the windings that produce a magnetic field, or are acted upon by a magnetic field generated by the rotor. The process begins with the stator core, often made of laminated electrical steel sheets to reduce eddy currents. These laminations are stamped and stacked to form a cylindrical structure with slots. Next, insulated copper or aluminum wires are wound into these slots. The winding pattern is crucial for generating the desired magnetic field characteristics and torque in a motor, or voltage in a generator. These windings are then secured and insulated to prevent short circuits and withstand operating temperatures and vibrations. Finally, the stator is assembled into its housing, which provides mechanical support and protection. The quality of statorbouw directly impacts the efficiency, performance, and lifespan of the electrical machine. Precision in winding, insulation, and assembly are paramount.
