Statia

Statia is the common name for Sint Eustatius, a small Caribbean island that forms a special municipality of the Netherlands as part of the Caribbean Netherlands. Along with Bonaire and Saba, it is part of the BES islands. The island’s capital is Oranjestad, located on the southwest coast.

Geography and environment: Statia covers about 21 square kilometers and has a population of around a few thousand people. The terrain is volcanic, with The Quill, a dormant cone that stands at the center and is part of a protected nature reserve.
