Statelessness refers to the condition of not being recognized as a national by any state under the operation of its law. Stateless individuals lack a nationality, which means they are not citizens of any country. Efforts are ongoing by international organizations, governments, and NGOs to identify stateless populations, prevent new cases of statelessness, and provide solutions for those affected.
