Sprinklerkomponenter refers to the individual parts that make up an automatic fire sprinkler system. These systems are designed to detect and suppress fires in their early stages, minimizing damage and ensuring occupant safety. The core components work in a coordinated manner to achieve this goal.

A crucial element is the sprinkler head. Sprinkler heads contain a heat-sensitive element, typically a glass bulb filled with liquid or a fusible link. When ambient temperature reaches a predetermined activation point, this element breaks, releasing a plug and allowing water to flow. The design of the sprinkler head, including its deflector plate, determines the spray pattern and coverage area.

The system also includes piping, usually made of metal or plastic, which carries water from the supply to the sprinkler heads. This network of pipes is strategically installed throughout a building. Control valves are essential for managing water flow. A main control valve allows the entire system to be shut off for maintenance, while other valves may isolate specific zones.

A water supply is fundamental, which can come from a municipal water main, a dedicated tank, or a fire pump. Pressure regulators may be used to maintain the correct water pressure within the system. For dry pipe systems, which are used in areas prone to freezing, an air compressor or nitrogen generator is present to keep the pipes filled with pressurized air until activation. When a sprinkler head opens, the air pressure drops, triggering a valve to allow water to enter the pipes and flow to the opened sprinkler. Ancillary components include alarms, flow switches that detect water movement and activate an alarm, and tamper switches that indicate if a valve has been closed without authorization.
