Springsteen

Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen (born September 23, 1949) is an American singer-songwriter and musician. His work, primarily rooted in rock, is known for its expansive narratives about working-class life in the United States and for his long, energetic live performances with the E Street Band.

Springsteen rose to prominence in the 1970s with the E Street Band, releasing a series of albums highlighted by Born to Run (1975). The River (1980) expanded his commercial appeal, while Nebraska (1982) offered stark acoustic songs. Born in the U.S.A. (1984) became a worldwide success, and Streets of Philadelphia earned the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1994.

With The Rising (2002), written in the wake of September 11, he returned to a broader rock sound and large-scale tours. He followed with Magic (2007), Working on a Dream (2009), Western Stars (2019), and Letter to You (2020). He remains associated with the E Street Band, a longtime touring group that has become synonymous with his live performances.

Springsteen has won multiple Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999. He has received other honors, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016, reflecting his influence on American popular music. His work is characterized by its earnest storytelling, social conscience, and enduring appeal across generations.
