Spotswoods
Spotswoods is a small, unincorporated community located in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. It is situated in the central part of the county, approximately 10 miles north of Fredericksburg. The area is primarily rural, characterized by farmland and wooded areas. Historically, Spotswoods was an agricultural center, with tobacco and other crops being significant to its early economy. Like much of Spotsylvania County, its history is intertwined with the colonial and Civil War eras.
The community does not have a formal government or defined boundaries, functioning more as a geographical designation.
