The organism forms a broad underground mycelial network and produces small, surface-visible sporocarps. Fruiting bodies are cup- or cushion-shaped, ranging from a few millimeters to a few centimeters. Spores are resilient and spread by wind, water, or animal agents.

Ecology and life cycle: Sporebredden is typically saprotrophic, contributing to decomposition and nutrient cycling. The life cycle alternates between mycelial growth and sporocarp production, often triggered by moisture, temperature, and disturbance. Disturbance can create new niches for colonization and spore release.
