Spinprojekció

Spinprojekció is a term used in quantum mechanics to describe the process of measuring the spin of a particle along a particular axis. When a particle with spin, such as an electron, is subjected to a measurement device that can only distinguish between spin up and spin down along a specific direction, the quantum state of the particle collapses into one of these two observable outcomes. This collapse is probabilistic, meaning the outcome of the measurement cannot be predicted with certainty, but the probability of each outcome is determined by the particle's initial quantum state.

For example, if an electron is in a superposition of spin up and spin down states along the z-axis, a measurement along the z-axis will yield either spin up or spin down. The specific probabilities are dictated by the coefficients of the corresponding states in the electron's wavefunction. If the measurement is performed along a different axis, say the x-axis, the spin will then collapse into either spin up or spin down along the x-axis, with probabilities determined by the original state's projection onto these new basis states. This phenomenon is a fundamental aspect of quantum measurement and highlights the non-classical nature of quantum systems.
