Spinalpunktur

Spinalpunktur is a technique that originated in Sweden and is based on the principles of osteopathic manipulative medicine. The term "Spinalpunktur" is Swedish for "spinal puncture" and was coined by a Swedish osteopath, Thure Lindgren, in the 1990s.

Spinalpunktur involves the use of manual pressure to manipulate the vertebrae in the spine, with the goal of relieving pressure on the nerves and improving spinal mobility. The technique is based on the assumption that small, non-invasive punctures of the skin can stimulate the release of pressure and tension in the muscles and joints, leading to improved spinal alignment and reduced pain.

During a Spinalpunktur treatment, the practitioner applies light pressure to specific points on the skin, typically along the spine. This is thought to stimulate the body's natural healing processes and promote the release of tension and pressure in the muscles and joints. Spinalpunktur is often used to treat a range of conditions, including sciatica, lower back pain, and migraines.

There is currently limited scientific research available on the effectiveness of Spinalpunktur, and its safety and efficacy have not been widely studied. As with any manual therapy, Spinalpunktur should only be performed by a trained and licensed practitioner.
