The key differentiating factor is the consumer's perception of the product's uniqueness and their strong brand loyalty, leading to a willingness to invest time and effort in acquiring it. Retailers often distribute specialty goods selectively, as they do not require widespread availability. Marketers focus on creating and maintaining a strong brand image and ensuring the product's distinctiveness is communicated effectively to the target audience. The demand for specialty goods is often inelastic, meaning price changes have a relatively small effect on the quantity demanded due to the strong preference of consumers.
