Spezialgericht
Spezialgericht is the German term for a court established to decide matters that require particular expertise, jurisdiction, or procedures beyond those of ordinary courts. Such courts are usually created by statute and may operate at the national or regional level. In contemporary German legal usage, the label is primarily descriptive; many modern specialized functions are fulfilled by courts with specific official names, such as Verwaltungsgerichte for administrative disputes or Finanzgerichte for tax matters, rather than by a generic institution called a Spezialgericht.
