Spektriä

Spektriä is a fictional terrestrial exoplanet in the Spektriä star system. The name derives from spectrum, reflecting distinctive atmospheric and surface spectral signatures observed from afar. It is used in world-building to discuss atmospheric photochemistry and remote sensing.

Spektriä is a rocky planet with a radius of about 0.95 Earth radii and a mass around 0.9 Earth masses. It orbits a K-type orange dwarf at roughly 0.9 AU in a near-circular orbit, with a period near 320 days.

The surface features icy highlands at high latitudes and basaltic plains near the equator. Mean temperatures range from -20°C to 5°C, with regional climate driven by albedo contrasts and atmospheric dynamics. The atmosphere is nitrogen-dominated with trace CO2 and methane, producing spectral scattering and vivid auroras.

Spektriä was identified via space-based spectroscopy and imaging, followed by robotic landers and rovers. It hosts international research stations studying atmospheric chemistry, surface photochemistry, and spectroscopy, contributing to models of spectral variability in exoplanet atmospheres.

There are no permanent settlements; research outposts operate under an international framework known as the Spektriä Treaty. The planet’s value lies in photonics research, data analysis, and spectroscopy-focused industry.
