SpektralDoppler is a conceptual spectroscopic technique designed to quantify velocity along the line of sight by analyzing Doppler shifts in spectral features. By combining high-resolution spectroscopy with precise wavelength calibration, it derives velocity information from shifts in the positions and shapes of spectral lines, enabling detailed velocity fields to be inferred from observed spectra across various wavelengths.

Its underlying principle is the Doppler effect: a moving source or observer shifts spectral lines in wavelength proportional to velocity. SpektralDoppler uses stable reference spectra, accurate instrumental profiles, and sophisticated line-profile modeling to separate true Doppler shifts from other broadening mechanisms. The method often employs cross-correlation or profile fitting, with corrections for Earth's motion, gravitational redshift, and instrumental drift to recover the intrinsic velocity signal.

Typical implementations rely on high-resolution, stable spectrographs, precise wavelength calibration sources, and data-processing pipelines that extract line centroids or velocity distributions.
