Speisekammer
Speisekammer is a pantry or larder in German-speaking households. The term combines Speise (food) and Kammer (chamber) and denotes a dedicated space for storing edible provisions, cooking ingredients, and related wares. In traditional houses, a Speisekammer was a separate, cool room or a walk-in cupboard adjacent to the kitchen, equipped with shelves or racks to organize canned goods, dry staples, preserves, spices, and sometimes root vegetables stored in a dark, well-ventilated space.
In contemporary homes, a Speisekammer may be a built-in pantry, a freestanding cabinet, or a walk-in closet
Historically common in German-speaking regions, Speisekammern were features of rural estates, town houses, and larger kitchens.
