Sousdurale

Sousdurale is a term that refers to a collection of organisms found in the subdural space of the brain. This space is located between the dura mater, the outermost membrane covering the brain, and the arachnoid mater, the middle membrane. While typically a sterile environment, under certain pathological conditions, microorganisms can colonize this area.

The presence of organisms in the subdural space is often associated with infections. These infections can arise from various sources, including direct spread from nearby infected tissues such as sinusitis or otitis, or from a subdural abscess.
