Snakeman

Snakeman is a term used in fiction and folklore to describe a humanoid creature with serpentine features. The concept appears across mythologies, fantasy literature, comics, film, and video games, usually depicting some blend of human and snake anatomy such as scales, fangs, or a snake-like tail. The term is generic and not tied to a single canonical entity.

In myth and folklore, serpentine humanoids appear in various forms, including naga or nagini in South and Southeast Asian traditions, lamia in Greco-Roman myth, and shapeshifting beings in other cultures. These beings are often associated with guardianship, danger, or magical power, and may interact with humans as allies or adversaries.

In modern media, Snakeman or Snake Man appears as characters or adversaries in video games, comics, and anime. A widely known instance is Snake Man, a Robot Master from Mega Man 3 (1989), whose stage and abilities center on snake imagery. The concept is also used for gangs, cults, or monsters in other works, frequently leveraging themes of venom, deception, or stealth.
