Smeltemønstre refers to the characteristic ways in which a substance melts. It encompasses the temperature at which melting occurs, the sharpness or broadness of the melting range, and any observable changes in appearance or behavior during the phase transition. Pure crystalline substances typically exhibit sharp melting points, meaning they transition from solid to liquid over a very narrow temperature interval. Impurities, however, often lead to a depressed and broadened melting range. This means the substance will begin to melt at a lower temperature than its pure counterpart, and the melting process will continue over a wider range of temperatures.
