Sleat
Sleat is a peninsula and civil parish on the Isle of Skye in the Highland council area of Scotland. It occupies the southeastern portion of Skye and extends into the Sound of Sleat, separating the island from the mainland to the south. The landscape comprises rugged coastlines, moorland, and woodlands. The communities of Armadale and Teangue are among the largest settlements along its shores, and the A851 road provides the main inland link.
The name Sleat derives from Gaelic Slèite, though the exact origin is uncertain.
Historically, Sleat was associated with Clan Donald, and Armadale Castle stood as the seat of the MacDonald
