SkyTeam

SkyTeam is one of the world’s major airline alliances, a coalition of airlines that collaborates to provide broad global reach and coordinated services for passengers and cargo. It was established in 2000 by Aeroméxico, Air France, CSA Czech Airlines, Delta Air Lines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, and Korean Air. Since then, the alliance has expanded through additional members and codeshare arrangements, extending its network across continents and increasing transfer connections for travelers.

Member airlines coordinate schedules and fares, operate joint marketing programs, and offer reciprocal benefits to frequent-flyer members. Passengers can earn and redeem miles on any SkyTeam carrier, use shared airport facilities where available, and enjoy smoother transfers and aligned check-in and baggage policies on many itineraries. The alliance also maintains standardized service concepts and operating procedures to improve consistency across airlines.

In addition to passenger services, SkyTeam operates SkyTeam Cargo, a separate network that coordinates interline cargo operations among member carriers. The alliance's governance is managed by a central secretariat that supports collaboration while preserving each member’s branding and operations. SkyTeam maintains a global footprint with member and partner carriers serving regions worldwide, enabling travelers to travel widely on a single branded network.
