Key features of a typical skateboard helmet include a hard outer shell made from materials like ABS plastic or polycarbonate, which provides a durable surface to resist abrasion and initial impact. Beneath the outer shell is a layer of impact-absorbing foam, usually expanded polystyrene (EPS), which crushes upon impact to absorb energy.
